Thank you for helping us reach my Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS. Our team is committed to raising funds to support those affected with ALS, like myself, and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Please consider joining our team and/or donating to our cause.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
I was diagnosed with ALS in January of 2018. That day changed my life and those of my family forever. Like so many other families, I had no idea what to expect or how much I would be affected by this horrible disease just trying to do the simplest of things. Over the past two years, I went from a forearm crutch to a power chair; from working full-time to having to retire at 63; and from enjoying playing tennis, running & swimming to not being able to care for myself.
Please consider joining me or sponsoring me so we can make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
Thank you,
Tom
