Not able to make the "official" walk date? You can still #WalkYourWay.Follow these easy steps to success:
Step ONE: Register your team Visit WalktoDefeatALS.org and find your city. Register your team, and you have taken the first step! Step TWO: Round up your "squad" Invite your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. The more the merrier. You can also set up "sub-walks" in other places with other people. Keep it safe. Step THREE: Spread the word
Post on Facebook neighborhood pages, the Nextdoor App, and social media. Send emails and make calls. Break out your old team t-shirts or official walk day shirts from years past. Make sure everyone knows what you are doing - and why. Step FOUR: Fundraise
ALS hasn't stopped and neither can we. Although the event looks different, the need is the same. Set up a Facebook fundraiser through yoru participant center, send emails or try a lemonaid stand. Every little bit helps. Step FIVE: Personalize your walk
Plan and create your walk decor. Create your own posters, tshirts, or decorate your yard. Our Chapter will provide your team captain with a "Walk in a Box" to help you get going. Step SIX: Share your story
Use Facebook Live to "broadcast" your walk day. Take photos and share on social media - tag them with #WalkYourWay. Share your photos to our Facebook page so we can feature your walk! We can't wait to see all of the creative ways you use to share your story. |
